Emma Sarley, 28, is a New York woman Bevy fired after telling a black couple to stay in their “hood” at a Brooklyn dog park in a viral video posted by Frederick Joseph. The video also shows Sarley trying to slam the phone out of Joseph’s hand as he recorded it. Joseph was in McCarren Park with his fiancee, Porsche Landon, when the incident in Williamsburg on September 25, 2021.

Incident details
Joseph posted the 27-second video to Twitter on September 25, 2021. The footage shows Sarley near a dog park gate as Joseph records it, saying, “Stay in our neighborhood? No no No No No. ”Sarley then says something to Joseph and raises his middle finger at his phone before trying to grab it and slam his hand. Joseph then says,“ Stay in our hood? hood? I’m sorry, what? “

After Sarley said, “Did you just tell me that?” Joseph responds, “You just told us to leave the dog park and stay in our hood.” Joseph then turns to a man and says, “You were right here and you watched it all, didn’t she just tell us to stay in our hood?” The man responds “she did,” as the video ends with Sarley and her dog walking away.
The man, identified as Steve Tracy, told CBS New York: “As those words came out and things started to unfold, it was pretty obvious to me, like, it’s… it’s not. OK.”
Joseph added on Twitter, “And for those who ask, it was in Williamsburg and she was screaming ‘river, so go guess her dog’s name is a river. … And for others who say one of us should have put our hands to her… Joseph then tweeted: “Update: someone on my Instagram seems to have found her. Her name is Emma Sarley. Yeah, unless she has a twin who lives in Brooklyn, that’s her.
Fired from work
Emma Sarley – who was fired from her job amid a social media reaction to the viral video of Saturday’s showdown at McCarren Park in Williamsburg – added that she was sorry for her “brief, thoughtless moment. My reference to “back to your neighborhood” only referred to another dog park outside of this neighborhood park.

Police report
The NYPD told the New York Post it looked into the incident but did not say whether a report was filed. According to the Post, Sarley noted in her statement, released through a public relations company, that she had never called police or threatened to call police or 911 during the incident and had denied having participated in a “tirade”. She apologized in the public relations statement and said she accepts responsibility for not handling things differently, the newspaper reports.
