In the early 2000s, Lapira was living in New York, and was mainly focused on stage work and independent movies. and had some notable performances while still living in NY. She debuted on the appraised Golden Globe Award-winning crime series “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and went on to have a prominent role in “Autumn in New York”, which gave her a chance to collaborate with Richard Gere and Winona Ryder.
Working steadily, in 2001, she was a guest star in two episodes of “The Education of Max Bickford”. Her other projects include “Without a Trace”, “The Parkers” and “Domino”. In 2004 she relocated to Los Angeles, and the audience was able to see her in “Huff”, which follows the story of a psychologist whose life takes a turn when his patient kills himself in his office. The series lived up to expectations, but was ultimately dropped for the third season just a few days before the finale of season two.
Rise to Fame
In 2008, Lapira was a guest star in another acclaimed TV series, “Dexter”, and in 2013 she briefly appeared in “Super Fun Night”, an American comedy series broadcast on ABC from 2 October 2013 to 19 February 2014, produced and developed by Rebel Wilson, but which was cancelled after its first season.
As of 2015, Lapira portrayed the recurring character Erin Jacocks in “Battle Creek”, working alongside Josh Duhamel and Kal Penn. In 2017, the actress appeared in “9JKL”, and in 2019 she landed the role of Mia in “Unbelievable”, the TV series about sexual assaults that took place in the USA.
Lapira can now be seen in “Modern Persuasion” and “The Hypnotist’s Love Story”. So far, she has had 58 acting projects. Liza has said that she gets more and more comedy roles, and went on to reveal her process of choosing roles for herself, saying that she cares about the way that movie was written.
