Wikipedia biography of Myrka Dellanos
Myrka Barbara Dellanos was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA on May 27, 1965 – her zodiac sign is Gemini and she holds US citizenship. She is a TV and radio presentersocialite and author, who is probably best known for hosting her own US-based Hispanic show on the American Spanish-language network “Estrella TV” since 2013.
Early life and education
Myrka was raised in Philadelphia by her parents, of whom little is known as she respects their privacy; it is believed that his father was a truck driver and his mother was an elementary school teacher. Although Myrka has not spoken of having any siblings, she is said to have a younger sister.
She became interested in journalism while attending a local high school, but was also into modeling; it was Myrka’s parents who urged her to focus on her studies and pursue a university education. She was physically very active during her teenage years, playing soccer for her high school team, while also playing volleyball and tennis.
After graduating in 1983, Myrka enrolled at the University of Miami, from which she earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism in 1986.
Journalist career
Myrka has not shared many details regarding her early career with her fans, but it is known that she worked for a few TV and radio stations for five years after graduation.
She recognized in 1992, when she signed a contract with American Spanish-language television network Univision, and began co-hosting their news show “Primer Impacto”. Myrka spent the next 12 years in this position, and only a few months later, in 2004, she was named “Star of the Year” by “People en Español” magazine. She hosted some of the Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations at the White House and was named a member of the Freedom Corps by former US President George W. Bush, which is a group of 25 people involved in charitable work.
Over the past decade, Myrka has focused more on philanthropy than hosting television and radio shows.
She became the spokesperson for the I Am Second movement in 2013, which aims to help people struggling with various life issues, including child abuse, divorce and abortion, by providing them with spiritual inspiration.
Honors
In 2001, the Direct Marketing Association of America named Myrka “Hispanic of the Year.”
In 2003, the Organization of Ibero-American Journalists named her “Person of the Year” and that same year, the Hispanic Heritage Council presented Myrka with a Hispanic Leadership Award.
Books
Myrka published her first book “Succeeding and Being Happy: The Things I Learned from God, My Mother, and Life” in 2005, and is now believed to be writing her second book.

Myrka launched her YouTube channel “Myrka Dellanos Official” on July 11, 2013, which has now nearly 10,000 subscribers, while she has over 40,000 views of all of her five videos combined, which feature Myrka interviewing celebrities, as well as giving her fans a glimpse into her daily life. Myrka has been married three times. She exchanged vows with her first husband, Dr. Alejandro Loynaz in 1991, and gave birth to their daughter Alexa on December 30, 1993; Myrka and Alejandro divorced in 1998.
She married her second husband, non-famous American David Matthews in 2000, in a private ceremony attended only by their closest friends and family members; they divorced two years later.
In 2003, The darkness started to come out together famed Mexican singer Luis Miguel Gallego Basteri – they got engaged the following year, but separated in June 2005.
She married her third husband, Ulyses Daniel Alonso on April 8, 2008, in a small ceremony in Coral Gables, Florida; Ulyses is a Cuban-born American pharmaceutical representative. On July 2, 2008, they appeared together on the cover of “People en Español” magazine, but only a month later Ulyses was arrested for domestic assault, after Myrka called the police; she filed for divorce on March 18, 2009, and it was finalized a few months later.
Myrka has not spoken of any other men she may have been with, and she appears to be single as of April 2022, has been married three times, and has a daughter Alexa with her first husband, Dr. Alejandro Loynaz.
