Speaking of her education, Threatt is a law graduate, but not a practicing lawyer. Apparently, she graduated in 1990, however, where she completed her studies remains unknown. Although a woman of a respectable profession, Threatt apparently prefers to be labeled as a housewife, mother, and socialite.

Career

After graduating, Threatt reportedly worked as an attorney for several law firms. However, upon entering her first marriage, she gave up her career as a lawyer and became a housewife. There is no sign of working as a lawyer after that, including through his second marriage. Lawyer-turned-housewife, Threatt didn’t just become that, however. Although there are no known facts about the details of her involvement in her second husband’s business, she is known to be part of his production company, as his assistant in all of his business endeavors.

Private life

Marriage to NBA star Sedale Threatt

Threatt was married to now-retired National Basketball Association (NBA) player Sedale Threatt, whose last name she still retains. During his long NBA career from 1983 to 1997, Sedale played for the Philadelphia 76ers, Chicago Bulls, and Los Angeles Lakers, among other teams. The couple married in 1992 when Threatt was just 22 years old. However, three years later, the marriage ended in divorce. Given how closely Threatt kept his private life from the public eye, no details about this marriage are known to the media. Reportedly, their relationship was quite rocky, with constant fighting and bickering, and the two reportedly got divorced due to her relationship with Dr. Dre.

Sedale Threat

While Sedale gained a lot of recognition during his basketball career, especially when he played for the Los Angeles Lakers, Threatt’s marriage to him brought him decent popularity. However, it was not until her second marriage that she became a real celebrity.

Marriage to rap star Dr. Dre

Threatt met Dr. Dre while still married to Sedale. Interestingly, the rapper wrote her a letter in 1995, which eventually became public. The letter indicated how much he wanted her by his side. The following year, shortly after Threatt’s divorce from Sedale, the couple began dating and a few months later they were married. They have remained married ever since, being one of the few couples in Hollywood to successfully maintain a lasting relationship.

Becoming the wife of the renowned entertainment industry figure allowed Threatt by association to establish her name in the celebrity world.

Threatt and Dre have two children together, son Truth born in 1997 and daughter Truly born in 2001. Dre also has three children from previous relationships, a son named Curtis Young when he was just 16, a daughter La Tanya Daniele Young also while still a teenager, and a son Marcel from his relationship with singer Michel’le Toussaint. He also had a son, Andre Young Jr, from a relationship with Jenita Porter, who died in 2008 of a drug overdose.

As for a couple who tend to keep their personal life and relationship extremely secretive, it’s perhaps worth noting that some sources have written about Dr. Dre cheating on Threatt with a model named Kili Anderson.

However, the rapper later responded to the allegations by completely denying them and demanding sources have photos of him and the mentioned girl removed from the media, threatening legal action.

However, that’s not the only controversy the rapper has been embroiled in; his ex-wife Michel’le published an autobiography, in which she claimed he threatened and physically assaulted her while they were together. The rapper, as well as Threatt, have remained silent on these accusations.
