Early life, family, formation
Mexican presenter, model and actress Sugey Abrego was born on December 31, 1978 in Veracruz, Mexico. Not much has been revealed about her family or her childhood, but she openly embraces her Hispanic ethnicity.
As a young adult, she took ballet lessons at the National Arts Center and studied acting at Televisa’s Centro de Educaciόn Artίstica (Arts Education Center).
Career
Acting
Her acting debut took place in 2003 in the series “Mujer, Casos de la Vida Real”, in which she remained until 2004. In 2005, she appeared in the soap opera “Barrera de Amor”, “Sueῆos y Caramelos” and “Como Dice”. el Dicho”, then in 2007, she appeared in “Destilando Amor” and “La Vecina”.
On February 5, 2008, she was cast in the Mexican anthology television series “The Stars”, created by Carlos Mercado Orduña and produced by Miguel Angel Herros.
The series alludes to the Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe side of the Catholic religion, set in modern times and primarily based in Mexico City, with the location changing in a few episodes. That same year, she worked in “La rosa de Guadalupe” and later became a collaborator in “Matutino Express”, directed by Esteban Arce.
In 2012 she was chosen for the telenovela “Un Refugio para el Amor”, with Gabriel Soto and Zuria Vega, followed in 2013 by two productions, “De Que to Quiero, te Quiero” and “Amores verdaderos”.

She also made appearances in other soap operas and TV series, such as “Until the End of Time”, “Parents Guide”, Central Market, “Duel of Passions”, “You Have to Be You”, ” Rebel” and “This story speaks to me.” She has also worked on shows such as “Se vale” and “Move”, and in 2017 she appeared on the talk show “Nights with Platinito”, and started acting in the soap opera “Enamoràndome de Ramόn”.
She doesn’t have much acting experience on stage, but appeared in the play “Los Monologos de la Vagina”. Alera Entertainment proudly represents her.
Presenting
On the Mexican Canal TV channel, Sugey was their news show a weather. In 2008, she became host of “D poca”, produced by Martha Zabalete, and presented the weather forecast in “Matutino Express”. In 2009, she left her job at “D poca” and became the host of “Arriesga TV”. She then hosted “TV de Noche”, but suffered from depression after the show was canceled.
On September 7, 2016, she suffered a clothing malfunction while presenting the weather forecast, live on the JT. The video went viral and brought Sugey a lot of attention.
She didn’t notice the fault at the time; and was not informed of this until after filming had wrapped up for the day.

She and Enrique Durán – her ex-husband – owned food trucks together, through which Sugey endorsed several brands, including Donna Karan and DKNY Stories fragrances, beginning in September 2018.
Private life
In 2011, she married businessman Enrique Durán in a memorable and seemingly beautiful ceremony.
Unfortunately, in 2015 she was threatened and robbed, and then had to take antidepressants to help her stay relaxed. She said her husband was her support during this time. Later that year, Sugey and her husband renewed their vows, but after five years of marriage, they were going to divorce in 2016 because Sugey wanted to start a family with Enrique, which he didn’t. They tried going to couples therapy, but found it useless.
Nevertheless, at the end of 2016, they decided to give their marriage another chance – she openly talked about the possibility of becoming a single mother. Enrique was the founder and director of Motors Heaven Motorcycles, but he went bankrupt after the company collapsed.
After eight years of marriage, they separated in 2019. Sugey said they had different life plans and future plans. they found that despite their best efforts to make their marriage work, their lives were going in completely different directions.
In 2019, she was also candid about her emotional battles. After they separated, she attempted suicide by trying to jump off a terrace – luckily one of the cleaners got her to safety.

She enjoys cycling, dancing and going to the movies. Some of his favorite books are “Mal de Amores”, “One Hundred Years of Solitude”, “El Alquimista”, and “Cien Aῆos de Soledad”.
