Early life and education
Michaela was raised with an older sister in Allentown by their Chinese-born mother and Irish-born father. Her mother is an accountant while her father is an entrepreneur. She began performing at the age of seven, performing on stage in regional productions as well as Pennsylvania community productions.
She studied at Parkland High School where she could have been seen performing in the plays “Bye Bye Birdie” and “The Crucible”. After graduating, she enrolled at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, from which she graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater in 2000.
