Who is Chiquinquira Delgado?
María Chiquinquirá Delgado Díaz was born in Maracaibo, Venezuela on August 17, 1972. Her zodiac sign is Leo and she is a Venezuelan national. Early life and education
Chiquinquirá was named after the Marian title of the Blessed Virgin Mary – Virgen de Chiquinquirá, and was raised by her devout Roman Catholic parents in Maracaibo, but not much is known about them, as Chiquinquirá respects their lives private; it is believed that his father was a taxi driver and his mother was a high school teacher.
Because she did not mention having any siblings, most Chiquinquirá fans believe she is an only girl.
She grew up be interested in modeling, and was physically very active while attending a local high school, believing that playing sports would help shape her figure; Chiquinquirá ran track and played both volleyball and soccer.

After signing up, Chiquinquirá spent an entire decade focusing on her modeling career, then ventured into television hosting in 2003, becoming co-host of the game show “Mega Match.”
It was also hosted by Samir Bazzi and follows students as they try to win cash prizes with the help of TV stars.
Chiquinquirá hosted the 2005 television news “Portada’s”, and in the same year she was a judge in the reality show “Miss Venezuela”.
Between 2002 and 2009, she hosted and participated in the action-adventure family show “Guerra de los Sexos”, which starred Viviana Gibelli, Daniel Sarcos and Ricardo Pena. It follows two teams of three men and three women, all of whom are famous actors and singers, as they compete in various fields to determine which gender is better.
Between 2004 and 2013, she co-hosted the talk show “¡Despierta América!” », which is currently hosted by Addis Tunon and Oscar A. Diaz; it won a 2019 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Spanish-Language Morning Show, while it was nominated for five other awards.
Meanwhile, Chiquinquirá also hosted the 2010 game show “Mira Quien Baila” and was the presenter of the 2011 TV special “The 12th Annual Latin Grammy Awards”.
Chiquinquirá’s most recent works have hosted the show “Balón de Oro de Liga MX 2017”, the music special “Premio Lo Nuestro 2018” and the family special “Feliz 2020 (Univision)”.
Acting Credits
Chiquinquirá launched her acting career with her portrayal of the title character, Margarita Luisa Volcan in the 1999 romantic series “Calypso”, created by Cesar Miguel Rondon, and which also starred Luis Fernandez and Felix Loreto. It follows the life of Maria Margarita who has been crowned “The Queen” of her island Calypso, and who has fallen in love with a man she has just saved from drowning.
The following year, Chiquinquirá played the role of Eva Amador in the romantic comedy series “María Rosa, Búscame Una Esposa”, created by Dago Garcia and Luis Felipe Salamanca, and which also starred Gianella Neyra and Marcelo Cezan. The series follows a businessman who has no time to date, but has now asked his secretary Maria Rosa to find him a suitable bride, unaware that Maria is in love with him.
Some of Chiquinquirá’s next roles were in three episodes of the 2002 series “Mambo y Canela”, a starring role in all 271 episodes of the romantic series “Cosita Rica” in 2003 and 2004, and the action thriller of 2011 “Pimp Bullies”. She made an appearance in the 2012 episode “Kidnapped by Danger” of the hit comedy series “30 Rock”, and the same year saw her star as Sofia in the drama film “Cuento Sin Hadas”.
