She likes to remember that since being a young girl, she has always wondered about the laws of nature, wanting to know how the weather changes, so her childish interest turned into a profession.
Educational background
Chelsea matriculated from Apex High School in 2006, and then entered North Carolina State University, where after four years she got a BA in Science and Meteorology. Then she proceeded further with her education, graduating from Lyndon State College located in Vermont, obtaining another BA, this time in Broadcasting. She is also a graduate of Johns Hopkins University, having an MS in Environmental Science and Policy.
Career
Modelling career
Since Chelsea was a teenager, she’s been interested in pageants, and worked hard for the contests she participated in. She once shared the photos of her with the difference of five years, one of 2007 and one of 2012 – the changes were obvious: she worked out a lot and fully changed her lifestyle and diet to become slimmer and to get the curves of her dreams. She participated in the Miss North Carolina contest, however, she won a pageant only in 2012, when she was crowned as Miss Vermont, getting several commercial contracts as a model and a few thousand dollars prize, adding to this a lot of sponsored gifts such as cosmetic products among others.
A career in meteorology
Chelsea pursued her dream of becoming a professional meteorologist, and right after her graduation from North Carolina State University she started working as an operational meteorologist at V-Trans, in the Vermont Department of Transportation. She also performed some duties of a research meteorologist on a short-term contract with Earthrisk Technologies. In 2010 she started working as a broadcast meteorologist at Raleigh’s network WTVD-TV.
Then she got back to Burlington, Vermont to continue working as a meteorologist at WFFF/WVNY, until 2013 when she quit WFFF to join the team of WJZ-TV, and moved to Baltimore, Maryland. In May 2017, she left WJZ and started working at CBS’ KYW-TV network. Along with broadcasting, she is a consistent weather blogger. She once shared that she had a dream to become a meteorologist and weather anchor at GMA (ABC NEWs’ show, “Good Morning America”). Among her awards and honors there are NCSC Woman of the Year Nominee, a Dean’s List, and Outstanding Greek Life Academic Membership at her Alma Mater, Lyndon State College.

Chelsea is married to her former long-term boyfriend Michael Cammarata. They met in 2012, became engaged in December 2014 and eventually married on 9 April 2016 in a ceremony at Jones Chapel located in Raleigh, North Carolina, after which guests were invited to join the celebration dinner in The State Club. Chelsea’s colleagues, Kristy Breslin and Tim Williams, who are also meteorologists, attended her wedding.
