“Investigators looking for an Iowa boy who went missing in May days before his 11th birthday said Thursday they found human remains matching his description in a nearby corn field. The body of a teenager was found near the hometown of a missing 11-year-old boy of Montezuma, an official with the Iowa Criminal Investigations Division confirmed Thursday evening. The body’s clothing matched what Harrelson was wearing when he was last seen on May 27. DCI deputy director Mitch Mortvedt told a press conference shortly after the remains were found. He did not confirm the sex.

Confirming the identity of the body could take eight weeks or more, Mortvedt said. However, authorities informed Xavior’s family of the discovery. We still don’t know much, ”Mortvedt said. The boy was last seen near his home in the northwest of the city, wearing a red t-shirt, blue pajama bottoms and black slip-ons – in high cane.
