Brittany Lopez-Murray is a 31-year-old drama teacher in Florida who was arrested Monday after allegedly repeatedly having sex with a former student in her car, according to a report.
Brittiny Lopez-Murray’s alleged relationship with the student began after the instructor texted the teenager in August about “her feelings towards him,” based on a police report obtained by the Miami Herald.

Lopez-Murray accused of having sex with a student
Lopez-Murray and the student – who is now in high school – exchanged texts detailing “how much they enjoyed sex with each other,” according to the report.
According to the report, the teacher would sometimes pick him up after basketball practice and then the two engaged in sex acts in his car.
Lopez-Murray taught at Hialeah Middle for four years and was named “Rookie Teacher of the Year” in 2017.

The report says the alleged relationship was discovered on Saturday after the student’s sister saw explicit texts and photos between him and the teacher.
According to the report, the boy’s father also found nude photos of Lopez-Murray on his son’s phone.

Lopez-Murray has been charged with lewd and lascivious battery, sexual assault and intercourse with a child.
One of the teacher’s attorneys, Landon Ray, said his client was “presumed innocent until proven guilty.”
“We hope everyone is patient, doesn’t rush to judge and respect family privacy,” the lawyer said.
Fired from work
The Miami-Dade School District told the Miami Herald that Lopez-Murray would be fired in light of her arrest.
“All employees receive training and are required to adhere to the district’s ethical standards of conduct policy. It is unfortunate that despite our efforts, the actions of some people are contrary to the behavior expected of them, ”said the district.
