Investigators found that maintenance worker Armando Manuel Caballero, 27, had access to a master key for complex units, which was used to enter Marcano’s apartment around 4:30 p.m. ET, said Sheriff John Mina to reporters.
Police report
Detectives, who have Caballero’s silver Ford Fusion, asked anyone in the area to call them if they spotted the vehicle over the weekend.
The call was repeated by Marcano’s grandmother, Violet Delville, who said in Spanish: “We love him so much. Please help us find my princess. We love him so much. Please.”
Even though she is not a student at the University of Central Florida, school officials have asked everyone on campus to keep tabs on Marcano or provide any information that may help investigators.
Authorities have said Marcano is 5 feet tall, weighs 130 pounds, and has brown hair and green eyes. According to the apartment complex, she was last seen wearing a red shirt, jeans and a black hoodie.
The sheriff’s office has 30 detectives working full time on the case, said Mina, who appealed for help from the public.
“No information is too small or too important,” he said.
