Willie Garson was a S*x and the City actor, who recently reprised his role as Stanford Blatch for the upcoming And Just Like That … reboot, passed away on September 21 at 57.

Willie has dedicated himself to improving the lives of children in the United States foster care system, often organizing/participating in fundraising events intended to aid adoption efforts.

Garson adopted her only son, Nathen, in 2009. Nathen, now 20, confirmed the tragic passing of her father via Instagram on Tuesday, September 21.

Nathen wrote a heartfelt tribute to her late father on Instagram, which included some of her favorite memories of Garson.

‘I love you so much, dad. Rest in peace, and I am thrilled that you have been able to share all your adventures with me and have been able to achieve so much. I’m so proud of you, ‘she began.

Just two months before his death, Willie was seen filming a scene with Sarah on the upcoming SATC reboot, titled And Just Like That …, in New York City.

The reboot, which will premiere on HBO Max later this year, is supposed to update fans on the lives of the series’ characters and how they have evolved since the events of Sex And The City 2.

On July 24, Willie and the series’ lead, Sarah Jessica Parker, were also joined on set by their co-star Mario Cantone, who plays event planner Anthony Marentino on the beloved HBO series and its subsequent rebirth.

During filming, Garson could be seen placing a kiss on Parker’s face as they performed their lines in front of the Lyceum Theater.

He was last photographed filming for the reboot on August 3.

Cause of Death

Willie Garson’s cause of death was pancreatic cancer. It is unknown how long he was battling the disease but who confirmed Garson’s cause of death in an obituary published in the New York Times on Thursday.

He would remember Garson’s successful career in Hollywood, which included 300 television appearances and roles in more than 70 films.

“Instead of flowers, the family requests that any donation made in his name go to the Alliance for the Rights of the Child,” the grieving family wrote.

The Alliance for the Rights of the Child aims to ‘protect the rights of children living in poverty and those who overcome abuse and neglect through the provision of free legal services, support programs, and systemic solutions.’

Willie is also survived by his sister Lisa Clark and his brother John Paszamant and three nieces and two nephews.

With a career spanning four decades, Garson has 170 acting credits and is best known for his memorable portrayal of ‘gay talent agent’ Stanford ‘Stanny’ Blatch on the HBO series S*x And The City.

Willie appeared in 27 of the 98 episodes of the series, which ran from 1998 to 2004.

He also appeared in the first feature film S*x And The City in 2008 and its sequel, titled S*x And The City 2, in 2010.
