Samuel Le Bihan is a French actor and is best known for his role as Prince in Brotherhood of the Wolf.

Samuel Le Bihan was born on Tuesday, November 2, 1965 (aged 57; in 2022.) His zodiac sign is Scorpio. He grew up in a modest environment in Plougastel-Daoulas (Brittany). He always had a desire to become an actor, but he also considered becoming a painter. He spent a year and a half at the Cours Florent before following a course in Commedia dell’arte which led him to do street performances, a mixture of clowning and burlesque mime mixing juggling and “spitting fire”. In order to enrich his theatrical experience, he decided to study classical texts at the Ecole de la rue Blanche and then at the Conservatoire National Supérieur d’Art Dramatique (CNSAD). Leaving for New York after a year of study, he took free lessons at the Actors Studio during his stay.

From his marriage to actress Patricia Francino, he has a son named Jules, born in 1995. He was engaged to Cameroonian-Gabonese model and fashion designer Daniela Beye from 2002 to 2015; they had a daughter, Angie, who has autism, born in December 2011.

Career

Back in France in 1994, Samuel Le Bihan joined the Comédie-Française company. During his four years of debates, he defended the texts of Corneille, Racine, Hugo, Kleist, Feydeau, and many others. Catherine Tasca, then French Minister of Culture, conferred on him the honorary title of Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres. It was also at this time that directors such as Régis Wargnier, Bertrand Tavernier, Alain Corneau or Tonie Marshall introduced him to cinema. Finally, he left the Comédie-Française but returned soon after to play Stanley Kowalski in the play A Streetcar Named Desire with a partner, Caroline Cellier, directed by Philippe Adrien. Following this performance, he was nominated for the Molières in the “Young Hope” category. His career as a filmmaker began when he landed the role of Norbert, the reasonable officer of Captain Conan, a role for which he was nominated for the César and won the prize. This was followed by Vénus Beauté (Institut), for which he received the Jean-Gabin prize, and Le Pacte des Loups, which established him as a leading artist.

His filmography includes successful comedies such as Restons grouped, Jet Set, Trois Zéros, auteur cinema with Catherine Breillat, Krzysztof Kieślowski, Laëtitia Masson, Émilie Deleuze, Anne Le Ny and many others. Other genre films such as Total Western, The Wolf Pact and Fury have also shown its influence, as have thrillers like The Cousin.

In 2004, he collaborated with Robert De Niro, Harvey Keitel and Kathy Bates in the American production Le Pont du Roi Saint-Louis, as well as with Andie MacDowell and Tim Roth in The Last Sign.

The former Marseille policeman joined the cast of the Alex Hugo series on France 2 in 2014, in which he plays the title character, a former cook who decides to live alone in the mountains.
